Advancing Impact

AHI strategies to move beyond pilot sites and advance impact regionally currently include the development of approaches for improved scaling out of technologies, strategies for enabling agricultural research organizations to lead effective institutional change processes, and improved knowledge management. The first of these is largely operationalized through the design, testing and dissemination of methods for technology dissemination that are more equitable and more effective in linking income generation with NRM, and which improve feedback from end users—thereby providing a crucial input back into technology generation and dissemination strategies. The second has been operationalized largely through National Agricultural Research Institutes but will be increasingly applied within extension and development organizations to enhance their knowledge and application of INRM principles and practice. Finally, knowledge management work is designed to strengthen in-field learning, and the publication and sharing of research results, lessons and methods throughout the region and beyond.
