Grant Description
The objective will be to assess the potential for introduction and adaptation of the landcare model of community-based organization that has proven very successful in Australia and South East Asia.

ICRAF is developing an important expertise in community-based movements such as landcare. These movements, alliances and coalitions play a pivotal role in advancing rural development and in enabling farmers to invest productively in new technologies and manage resources over wider landscapes.

ICRAF will endeavor to improve the understanding of the phenomenon of landcare while exploring the African institutional landscape. The goal will be to identify African models and help African institutions move into new areas of collaboration and collective action.
