OUTPUT 1: SUPPORT SUSTAINABLE INRM IN PRACTICE
Project 1.1: Advancing watershed-based participation to improve integrated agriculture and NRM
Activities
- Pilot implementation of watershed development interventions in selected sites through integration of social, institutional and technical variables
- Integration of farmer-led sustainable agricultural change practices at farm level
- Capacity building of men and women farmers and community-based organizations

- Documentation/guides of factors, lessons, experiences for integration and systems improvement methods
- Systematic monitoring/assessment and documentation systems
- Documentation of integrated, participatory watershed management methods
- Documentation on ways to improve local organizations, their innovation, collective action and conflict resolution

Project 1.2: Developing and implementing district-based strategies to improve the orientation of development, policy interventions and practices of INRM approaches
Activities
- Identify and initiate potential partnerships within selected districts to advance INRM
- Consolidate a valid information base on INRM gaps and potentials to influence policy and investment
- Training and capacity building of district stakeholders able to contribute to INRM
Products
- Documentation/guides of factors, lessons, experiences for partnership management
- Methods developed for local scaling up.
- Information on technological solutions and their conditionalities systematically organized for scaling up
- Methods to improve marketing/entrepreneurial dimensions

OUTPUT 2: SCALING UP OF WATERSHED-BASED INRM APPROACHES THROUGH INCREASED INSTITUTIONALIZATION AND PUBLIC INVESTMENT
Project 2.1: Inducing change in research institutional policy and practice for enhanced use of INRM approaches
Activities
- Document, synthesize, analyze and disseminate lessons derived from pilots
- Build capacities of researchers and institutions to undertake INRM research
- Enable partner institutions to initiate change in support of INRM
- Support advocacy for the use of INRM approaches
Products
- Research planning processes improve demand orientation of farmers, communities, policy makers and service providers
- Priority setting, M&E, planning and strategy setting processes incorporate INRM dimensions
- A cadre that are experts on INRM approaches
- Training methods and materials on various aspects of INRM
- Various syntheses, case studies and analyses on aspects of INRM
Project 2.2: INRM lessons and experiences widely shared and skills enhanced in partner institutions
Activities
- Document, synthesize, analyze and disseminate lessons derived from pilots and other experiences
- Provide technical support to INRM programs of various institutional players
- Enhance networking among research and development partners in applying INRM approaches

- Publications, bulletins, CD-ROMs, electronic newsletter and web site containing information for diverse stakeholders
