World Agroforestry Centre and Embrapa sign cooperation agreement

The Programme for the Development of Alternative Biofuel Crops organized, in partnership with Embrapa, an open roundtable on biofuels in Brasília, Brazil, on 19 August 2014. Hosted by Embrapa Agroenergy, the event  promoted an evidence-based discussion on the potential and challenges ahead for the sustainable development of pro-poor biofuel models worldwide, building on the Brazilian experience. And as part of the 2nd Steering Committee Meeting of the biofuel programme, the roundtable gathered senior policy makers from the Government of Brazil, as well as representatives from international development organizations, private sector, and other stakeholders which culminated in the signing of a cooperation agreement between the World Agroforestry Centre and Embrapa.  The MOU opens up possibilities for collaboration between the two institutions, not just in Brazil but in other areas of mutual interest such as Central America, the Caribbean and Sub-Saharan Africa...
