Tree fundamentals

Dedicated to climate change, the latest issue of Planet Aid Post carries an article looking at the multiple benefits of trees, including how farmers in developing countries have increased food production through agroforestry.

The article explains why trees are often described as ‘the lungs of the earth’ and how forest destruction and degradation is contributing to global greenhouse gas emissions. Titled: “Why Planting Trees is Cool” the article also outlines the carbon sequestration of old growth forests and the need for reforestation.

Planet Aid is a US-based non-profit organization with a mission to inform, mobilize and inspire individuals and communities to work together to bring about worldwide environmental and social progress.
