To assist the indigenous community increase their adaptive capacity against the worsening effect of climate change, ICRAF and KEF with support from the US Agency for International Development organized the "Agroforestry Technology Training". The training was held last 6-8 February 2012 at Kalahan Dagwey Center in Brgy. Imugan, Sta. Fe, Nueva Vizcaya. The training was attended by 47 participants (23 females and 24 males) from clusters 1 and 4 of the Ikalahan-Kalanguya Ancestral Domain representing the farmers, local government officials, members of the KEF and women's group.
Mr. Glicerio Joel Lumagbas, former Assistant Vice President of the Nestle Corporation and Director of Philippine Coffee Board, Inc and Mr. Daisuke Tanaka, buyer of coffee served as resource persons of the training.
Coffee being the top-seed crop to be planted during the enrichment planting activity, the training focused mainly in the production up to post harvesting technologies of coffee. The training catered a big contribution not only to the project but most of all, to the community who will be benefited if and only if they will seriously use their learnings in the training.
