World Business Broadcast reports that Swedishoutdoor equipment company, Haglöfs, is introducing a swapstories program where people get to give away their used Haglöfs products in return for a 20% discount on purchases of new products.
The buyer of the used product gets to choose whether it will go to one of two nominated charities: Vi-skogen or Projekt Åredalen.
Vi-skogen is a Swedish aid organization that focuses on agroforestry to help poor African farmers in the countries surrounding Lake Victoria. Since 1983 it has contributed to planting more than 100 million trees and improved the living conditions of more than 1.2 million families.
Previous owners of the donated products have the opportunity of telling a story about the product, hence the ‘swapstories’ title.
