Seminar on tools and approaches for understanding stakeholder perceptions and behavior in REDD+

On Thursday, 20th September in Hanoi, a seminar on new tools and approaches for understanding local stakeholdersメ perceptions on REDD+ was organized by ICRAF in collaboration with the Vietnam-REDD+ sub-technical working groups, at the Flower Garden Hotel. The participants came from some ministries, agencies and departments at all levels and other international organizations such as Center for International Forestry Research and Netherlands Development Organization (SNV).

During the seminar, three ICRAF researchers and students presented their findings and case studies, conducted in summer 2012.

  1. "Structured decision making for forest management programs under REDD+ in Vietnam" by Dr. Mamta Vardhan, Post-doc at the University of Calgary University and ICRAF.
  2. "Stakeholder perceptions and preferences for benefit distribution systems" by Dave Eastman, ICRAF research fellow and MSc student at the Oregon State University.
  3. Behavioral Aspects of Self-Monitoring in REDD+ and PES, Dr. Rohit Jindal, Post Doc fellow at the University of Alberta and ICRAF Vietnam.
