Project in The Gambia provides agroforestry training

Governor of the Central River Region north in The Gambia has praised a project which encourages communities to take up agroforestry.

As reported in All Africa, extension workers in the region recently received training to build their capacity in livestock and horticultural development techniques. Funded by the Livestock and Horticultural Development Project (LHDP), the training covered topics such as fruit tree production, poultry and small ruminant breeding, marketing and pest and disease management.

Governor, Ganyie Touray, praised the project which is focused on working with women and young people to reduce poverty, enhance knowledge and skills, and secure food and nutritional security.
