In an effort to reduce the share of the world's population living in extreme poverty by 2030 to just 3 per cent, the World Bank and International Monetary Fund together with the United Nations are calling for sustainable economic growth across the developing world.

The growth needs to be achieved in a sustainable manner and funding secured to address the challenges of climate change, crisis response and gender equality.
Countries that want to transition to low-carbon growth need to be supported, says the article, and inefficient fossil-fuel subsidies removed.
Increased efforts are required to adopt and scale up climate-smart agriculture practices such as agroforestry, conservation tillage, mulching, intercropping, crop rotation, integrated crop-livestock management, improved grazing, and water management.
