In line with refreshing ICRAFメs Global Strategy, the ICRAF-Vietnam team organized a 2-day Strategic Planning Workshop which was followed by staff recreation and teambuilding, on 2-5 October 2012, at Halong Bay, Quang Hinh province, Vietnam. The workshop aimed to map out ICRAF Vietnamメs medium-term strategy (2013-2020) which could then, be incorporated in the SEA Regional Strategy and ICRAF Globalメs Strategy. To meet this expectation, all participants experienced and focused on the meeting agenda covering the following: Introduction of CGIAR-SLOs, CRP6 IDOs, ICRAF vision/mission, refreshed strategy, ICRAF-Vietnam vision; Current Reality Dialogue; Communication needs and challenges; Institutional needs and challenges; Consensus-building and prioritization; and Action Planning.

The workshop and teambuilding did not only help the managers, but also staff to experience the whole planning process, enabling each staff to envision the impact that they have as an individual to the success of the entire team and mission. Tentatively, our vision is "By 2020, the World Agroforestry Centre Viet Nam is the leading organization in bridging farmersメ practices and scientific knowledge for smart agroforestry in the Mekong Region".

The 2-day strategic planning was followed by ICRAF Vietnam annual teambuilding and staff welfare activities. The whole team went for a boat trip and site seeing Ha Long Bay, played various games, which enabled them to have great fun at the most beautiful beach resort in Vietnam, Ha Long Bay, UNESCOメs Natural World Heritage.
