ICRAF regional office on national radio

A news broadcast aired on 21st November 2012 on Cameroon Radio and Television (CRTV) describes the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF)’s participatory tree domestication program, which has taken root in West and Central Africa (WCA) and bringing benefits to tens of thousands of farmers.

Under the program, researchers work with farmers to domesticate and improve traditionally important indigenous fruit trees, medicinal plants, spices and vegetables, so they can be grown on farms.

The broadcast was recorded during a field visit by the ICRAF Board of Trustees, meeting in Yaoundé, Cameroon, from 21–24 November 2012. The Board’s meeting, the Centre’s 56th, also coincides with the ICRAF WCA Regional Office’s 25th anniversary celebration.
