Havana to host major agroforestry gathering

Forestry, coffee and cocoa will be under the spotlight in Havana, Cuba in April 2015 when 3 major events converge.

The website International Comunicaffe reports that the International Agroforestry Convention, 6th Forestry Congress of Cuba, the II International Congress of Coffee and Cacao, and the VI International Meeting of Young Researchers will be held over 4 days.

Researchers, academics, entrepreneurs, producers, and other actors in the forestry, coffee and cocoa supply chains will exchange information and experiences on core issues of agroforestry science.

Among the topics to be discussed are biodiversity, climate change, water, bioenergy, pests and diseases, sustainable technologies, plantation management, by-products and soil and nutrient management.

The conference organizers are calling for abstract submissions by the end of November 2014.
