Fashion designer supporting Centre’s work

Some of the world’s most prominent fashion designers are donating to charities, especially those with a personal connection.

Among these is the Tommy Hilfiger Corporate Foundation which is supporting Millennium Promise, a non-profit that aims to eliminate extreme poverty, hunger and preventable disease through partnerships with groups such as UNICEF and the World Agroforestry Centre.

Says Hilfiger in an article in Chicago’s Daily Herald: "I always wanted to be successful enough to give back to causes that are near and dear to my heart".

"We can end extreme poverty in our lifetime. We can pass on our skills, dedicate our resources, and share our ambitions with communities across the globe. What we get back is immeasurable."

The article gives a rundown of some of the organizations that are benefitting and the designers’ motivation for supporting them.
