Effective REDD implementation in Indonesia

In an interview with Climate Change TV, Meine van Noordwijk, Principal Scientist and Chief Scientific Advisor at the World Agroforestry Centre, outlines the Centre’s work since the creation of the REDD program in Bali.

Van Noordwijk speaks about the difficulties associated with defining a forest and how this has major implications to the way REDD could be implemented. For example, do plantations of oil palm qualify as forest. He explains how Indonesia is effectively responding to climate change by integrating REDD with its nationally appropriate mitigation actions (NAMAs).
