Radio Bundelkhand 90.4 FM has begun broadcasting special programs on drought-resilient farming practices such as agroforestry.
The programs provide farmers and other community members in the central Indian region of Bundelkhand with useful information on farming methods and techniques that can help them cope with drought conditions, timely information about the control of crop pests and diseases, weather and market news and information about relevant government schemes.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a below-normal monsoon due to El Nino which is likely to result in drought-like conditions.
Radio Bundelkhand presents it programs in local language and in a range of interesting formats such as radio magazines, song dramas and interviews. The programs connect remote, rural communities with scientific experts.
