Centre’s gender research featured in CCAFS Annual Report

Advancing the practice of climate-smart agriculture, in farmers’ fields and in global initiatives, has been a major achievement of the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) in the past year.

CCAFS has just released its 2014 Annual Report which profiles outcomes, innovations and breakthroughs across the program and the globe. The report highlights work by the World Agroforestry Centre to develop the Gender and Social Inclusion Toolbox.

The aim of the toolbox - which was downloaded over 2000 times in 2014 – is to mainstream gender and social inequality approaches into ongoing research programs.

Development practitioners working on climate change, agriculture and community development are using the toolbox to design and conduct participatory research that uncovers important gender and social differences
