Brazilian women plunge into agroforestry

Women who are participating in agroforestry in Brazil are improving their livelihoods and becoming more involved in production, marking and advocacy.

Hundreds of women who have been working collectively in agroforestry – from production to organization and marketing - now have access to their own income.

Says Leni Rodrigues de Sena Pamplona, a member of the Agroforestry Blue Magpie Group on the coast of Paraná, “I feel valued, respected and I'm proud of what I do".

"Today we sent 15 varieties of food to the Fair. Thus, we showed how women can grow food and contribute to ensuring the survival of the family," says Olga Maria de Figueiredo, another member of the agroforestry group.
