Mr Noel Cook and Ms Clare Wood were hired for 2 months to work on an MPT Database literature search. Mr Wachira Kamonji completed his consultancy assignment on the "women in off-farm lands" project.

Finance and Administration

In the Administrative Unit, the move to ICRAF House in Gigiri and the increase in staff in the other three divisions resulted in a marked increase in the number of junior support staff employed in the Division in 1987. There was not a corresponding increase hi senior divisional staff and a priority for 1988 is to correct this imbalance.

In the Finance Unit, there is now an urgent need for more staff to cater to the increased size and complexity of the financial operations of the Council as research, outreach, and information and communications staff increase.
